LOUISVILLE, KY (WISH) - A Carmel couple is in Louisville, Kentucky desperately searching for their missing son.
According to the 18-year-old's phone records his last phone call was to his mother on Thursday, Oct. 28. And now, Carmel Police are working with Louisville Metro Police to find Andrew Compton.
John and Angela Compton are leading their own search on Louisville streets. They want to find their son 18 year old Andrew Compton who was last seen leaving his Sullivan University dorm in Louisville October 28th at about 9:00pm.
24-Hour News 8 spoke to John and Angela on the phone. They were in a Louisville hotel room waiting for word from authorities.
"We certainly fear that but think the circumstances under which he disappeared are quite suspicious. And he just left with the clothes on his back his cell phone his wallet his mp3 player and he had shorts on." said Angela Compton.
John Compton added, "He didn't take his backpack didn't take his laptop."
The suspicious circumstances Angela referred to was email correspondence with a 40 year old man who Andrew met online. The same man seen in school surveillance video picking up Andrew the last time the teen was seen on campus. Louisville Metro police questioned the man.
"The individual says yeah I picked him up I brought him to my house but I got too inebriated to drive him home and he left late." said John Compton.
While police have questioned the man who was last seen with Andrew Compton they have not arrested him or released his name as a person of interest in the case. Meantime, the Compton family remains in Louisville where they are searching for Andrew in the area he was last seen.
