KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - A suspected clothes thief is seen on a store's surveillance camera driving his car through the business' front window and grabbing $4,500 worth of items.

It happened at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday at B Finest Clothing Store, 3151 Breton Road SE, near 32nd Street, in Kentwood.

The manager said he got a call that the alarm at his store was going off. He arrived and saw the damage to the business. Police also arrived at the scene.

The manager then showed 24 Hour News 8 the surveillance video, which shows the car crashing into the store, the driver getting out of the vehicle and stealing the clothes, and then driving away.

The manager says the suspect knew what he was doing, as he was wearing a mask to cover up his identity, and gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints at the scene.

Police have not released a description of the suspect. They say the car is described as being maroon colored with front-end damage.

If you know anything about this crime you are asked to call police at (616) 656-6600 or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
