INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The RCA Dome roof is being raised once again in areas all over Indianapolis.
About 35 tons of fabric from the roof is being donated to Indy Parks. Ely Lilly is providing storage of the fabric until the parks department is ready to use it. Parks department leaders say they'll be able to put the material to very good use.
"We're looking at everything from shelter areas, to pool covering areas, to shade coverings, to a possible covering on Koontz Stadium where we do outdoor soccer. So for us this a great gift for Indy Parks. Not only does it help us put in some of these structures, but also these are durable structures that should have decades of time in the parks," said Stuart Lowry, Indy Parks Director.
He says the material is in excellent condition. The parks department hopes business partners will help with funding for shelter construction.
