INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Colts are back to work Wednesday and they've made some
roster changes. With running backs Joseph Addai and Chad Simpson
banged up, the Colts signed free agent Najeh Davenport and cut
Terre Haute-native Jamie Petrowski.
Don't expect the Colts to take the 0-13 Detroit Lions
lightly. They know both teams still have plenty to play for.
"We still have something to play for. It's a tough game for us because we have three teams chasing for two spots. We don't want to come out on the losing end," said defensive back Kelvin Hayden.
The Colts are riding a six-game winning streak and want to continue to ride that momentum. So they have no intentions of slowing down.
"Establish a little rhythm and get a little confidence...but it's truly been one-week-at-a-time mentality. I know I keep repeating that but that's been the philosophy. That's how it was last week and that's what it has to be this week," said Peyton Manning.
As the Colts get stronger, they are getting healthier. Center Jeff Saturday is expected to be back in the lineup this Sunday.
"I felt really close last week so I'm hoping everything has progressed," said Saturday.
And just like last week, no matter who's in the line up, the Colts need to win.
If the playoffs began Wednesday, Tennessee and Pittsburgh would
get first-round byes. As for the Colts, they would have to travel
to New York to face Brett Favre and the Jets. The Colts would be
the fifth seed setting up a dream match up: Manning vs. Favre.
