SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - A couple of former Indy 500 winners spent the day testing tires at the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Defending champ Helio Castroneves and 2007 winner Dario
Franchitti were at the track helping Firestone.
The weather wasn't the best Tuesday morning, but both guys said they love driving at Indy no matter what.
"We are here for Firestone, we are coming up with some new tires for next year's 500 so we can probably accomplish now that the sun is out, but before that it was just a little too cold to get some real running in for next year. It's getting a little warmer we will get out there after lunch and get some good running in,” said Franchitti.
Marco Andretti, Vitor Meira and Thomas Scheckter will join Dario
and Helio be at the track on Wednesday testing for next year's
Indianapolis 500.
Spectators can watch for free from the infield stands.
