SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - It is the biggest weekend of the year for race fans and the city of Indianapolis. The 93rd running of the Indy 500 is this Sunday and there is plenty of action out at the track.
Tens of thousands of race fans crowded the Speedway grounds
Friday for Carb Day events.

The weather was perfect and most in attendance wore short
sleeves and shorts while enjoying the day.
IMS officials traditionally do not give out attendance
figures. However, 24-Hour News 8 spoke with numerous people who
said nothing could keep them from the festivities. They also say
the economy while a factor is not throwing a damper on their fun.
Race fan Lindy Funkhouser said, “I’m already set,
I planned it out, I saved up and I’m here today.”
“Everything is looking good for us. We’re looking
forward to a big weekend… our two biggest days of the year,
so you know we are optimistic about sells,” said Jason Orton
who sells memorabilia at IMS.
