Ed Carpenter crashes at IMS on Pole Day

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - Ed Carpenter was medically cleared to return to racing after crashing in the second turn at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Carpenter was the third driver to crash on Pole Day.

During qualifications for the Indianapolis 500, rookie Bryan Clauson and Oriol Servia also crashed. Those two were also both medically cleared to drive.
