INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Oriol Servia is returning to Panther DRR for the 2013 IndyCar season.
The team will start the year with Chevrolet, which should give Servia a better shot at contending for the championship.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing started last year with a Lotus engine and struggled to compete through the first four races. The team then merged with Panther Racing and switched to Chevy before the Indianapolis 500, and Servia broke through with a fourth-place finish.
The Spaniard followed with top-five finishes on the street courses at Detroit and Toronto, and the short oval at Milwaukee. Over the course of the season, Servia charged through the field to pass 107 cars.
Servia and Panther DRR will test at Sebring, Fla., next week.
