INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The 2010 Brickyard 400 will get the green flag earlier than in recent years.

The start time has been moved to 1 p.m. as part of NASCAR’s recent initiative to create a more uniform set of starting times for Sprint Cup Series races.

This will be the earliest green flag for the Brickyard race since 2000.

The Brickyard 400 is one of 28 different NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events with an earlier green flag in 2010. Races in the Eastern and Central time zones will start at 1 p.m. (ET), with West Coast races beginning at 3 p.m. (ET) and almost all night races at 7:30 p.m. (ET).

The one major exception to the night race rule will be the Coca-Cola 600 which will still start at 5:45 p.m. ET.
