INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The man who ran Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 20 years and is now out of the family business entirely is suspending racing operations.
Tony George's only tie to auto racing was his ownership of Vision Racing, an Izod IndyCar Series team.
The company is letting go of 15-20 employees.
Vision Racing hopes a partnership or sponsorship can still be reached, but that has not happened, leading to Thursday's announcement.
Earlier this month, Tony George resigned from the Hulman & Company board of directors.
That came months after George was ousted as the track's CEO in June.
