INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana University announced on Saturday that Bob Knight will be inducted into the Indiana University Athletics Hall of Fame in November.
It's not yet known if Knight will attend the Hall of Fame dinner or the halftime ceremony the next day during the IU-Wisconsin football game. On Monday night at the PeyBack Bowl hosted by Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning, one of Knight's former players, Quinn Buckner, discussed the situation.
"I want coach to get his just do at the university, so I'm
anxious to see how all this plays out. But he definitely deserves
to be in the Hall of Fame," said Buckner.
Buckner said he was clueless as to whether Knight would come
back for the ceremony in November.
“I don't really know. I think he feels pretty strongly
about the way things transpired and I understand. And I don't have
the same energy about it as he does but I feel strongly about it
myself, so I can't really say," Buckner said.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
