INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Hinkle Fieldhouse is currently surrounded by construction equipment as repairs are set to begin on the historic structure.
The fieldhouse on the Butler campus was hit by a thunderstorm in August that left a fair amount of damage. The facade took a hit and bricks fell from the window and caused some damage inside.
"It's a national landmark, something we have to pay attention to. I wish I could say it was planned but we know we've had issues with the lentils above the window. It's something we need to address immediately," said Mike Gardner, VP of Operations at Butler.
A fair amount of brick from the west facade wall will be removed
from the 81-year-old building and crews will rebuild the brick in
sections, Gardner said.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
