INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana was in great shape until they hit a wall, going nine and a half minutes without a basket in the second half, and for the 4th consecutive year, they go one-and-done in the Big Ten tournament.

“I think we just got stagnant out there, real tentative. They made some good runs, it was a game of spurts. Northwestern hit some good shots, they've got really good players.," said junior Jeremiah Rivers.

"It wasn't the year we were hoping for, and it's tough to see it end that way, but looking at the bright side, we got better," added freshman Christian Watford.

Verdell Jones said, "We are a step out. We've got the right pieces, the freshmen are making strides in the big ten, so hopefully, we can keep going."

Coach Tom Crean sees steps in the right direction, but it’s coming slowly. "We've just got to continue to build our will on both ends of the court, build onto the rebound mindset and culture we've started building this year and take that into different areas as bring back the program."

Senior Devan Dumes, finishing his Hoosier career said it’s been a rough ride. "Every program goes through its downfall, but I didn't think anyones ever gone through this one, so there will be a return. Everyone knows it's just a point in time."

So the Hoosiers finish 10-21, not good by any means, but an improvement over a year ago.
