WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) - Purdue's basketball teams unofficially kicked off their hoops season Tuesday with media day. Both the ladies and men spent some time with the media before and after practice.

The teams have been on the court the last couple of days gearing up for the season. The men's first game is Nov 3 against California of Pennsylvania in an exhibition match up.

This is Matt Painter's fifth year as head coach and this year's squad is lead by a seniors and juniors that have a lot of experience.

"We are definitely going to emphasize the same things we have every year. I think the difference for us is the experience we are emphasizing them with. I think it allows you to start with those guys and really be able to build off the last couple of years and be able to have seniors and the juniors that all started as freshmen, I think it is a definite advantage," said Painter.
