There was a lot of the buzz on Tuesday night at the Hall of Champions about the recent news of Bob Knight being inducted into the IU Hall of fame in November. It's not yet known if Knight will attend the event.
IU Athletics Director Fred Glass said, "I have not heard from Coach Knight. We obviously did that because it's absolutely the right thing to do...his national championships, All-Americans produced Coach of the Year honors and so forth. I really hope he comes back but I hope he doesn't feel pressure to do that because Coach ought to do what Coach needs to do. We're putting him in because he belongs in the Hall of Fame, not because he needs to come to dinner."
IU basketball Coach Tom Crean was also at the event on Tuesday and he agrees it would be an honor having Coach Knight at the Hall of Fame dinner.
"It would be great, even if it's for one night, to honor him and I would be just a part of the majority that night...I would be a fan that night. It would be incredible," said Tom Crean.
