Shelvin Mack's 17 points paced the unbeaten Butler Bulldogs to a 64-60 win Saturday night over the Evansville Purple Aces.

The Bulldogs held on for the win, despite a poor shooting night. Butler shot just 28 percent from the field.

Matt Howard had 10 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out.  Gordon Hayward added 15 points, including a crucial free-throw with 3 seconds left.

After the game, Coach Brad Stevens said, "The easiest thing to say is a win's a win, you never take those for granted, especially on the road in a hostile environment. But we want to play better, but I don't want to take anything away from Evansville. We'll go back to work, and it doesn't get any easier in Anaheim."

Butler next plays on Thanksgiving night against 24th ranked Minnesota in Anaheim.
