INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Marian Knights have a new head football coach.
39-year old Mark Henninger, an Indianapolis native and Roncalli high grad, takes over for Ted Karras, who led the team to the NAIA title last month.
Henninger comes over from D-3 North Carolina Wesleyan and says he wants to continue what the Knights have started.
"We’re going to pay attention to detail, we're going to emphasize the small things,” sais Henninger at his afternoon news conference. “ We're going to play fast, we're going to be aggressive, we're going to attack both sides of the football and we're going to be disciplined, but I guess the bottom line is we're going to have fun."
"We're going to enjoy the experience of being a football family, and again, I'm excited to get started. There is no better time to be a Marian Knight.”
