INDIANAPOLIS (WISH/AP) - The Indianapolis Colts will play host to their arch rival the New England Patriots on Sunday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady recently said that Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney is the most intimidating player he has faced.
On Tuesday, while being interviewed on the Rome is Burning on ESPN, Freeney was asked about Brady’s comments.
"I just go out there and play ball. He is a great quarterback and what they do is so great, I have to have my 'A' game playing the Patriots every year-in and year-out. It's like they are in our division. And I am from New England, I'm from Connecticut, I have to hear it twice as bad when we lose. So, I don't know, maybe I just bring my 'A' game out with them," said Freeney.
This season has been a special one for Freeney. He's had a sack in every game and is on pace to set an NFL record. Meanwhile his team is 8-0, leading the AFC South and has won 17 straight games, tied for the third-longest streak in NFL history.
Peyton Manning seems to be setting new milestones each week and tight end Dallas Clark was named this week's offensive player of the week.
On Sunday, Freeney will have his chance to make history, too. If the four-time Pro Bowler can sack New England's Tom Brady, Freeney will tie the NFL record for most consecutive games with a sack at 10.
The Colts have added cornerback Anthony Madison to the roster and released the recently re-signed Josh Thomas, a defensive end who played in last weekend's victory over Houston.
