TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts have begun another busy week of training camp. The team had two practices Monday on the Rose Hulman campus in Terre Haute. The Colts are gearing up for their first preseason game coming up on Friday night at Lucas Oil Stadium against Minnesota.
There was some good news coming out of camp on Monday. Two key players were back on the field. Defensive back Marlin Jackson practiced for the first time at camp -- Jackson is returning from knee surgery -- and offensive lineman Charlie Johnson returned to action after dealing with a shoulder injury. Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell said that Johnson will be a starter for the Colts this season.
On Monday, both Jackson and Johnson were happy to be back.
"I was feeling good," Jackson said. "I can't ask for a better situation to be able to come back and be ready and get some work in so I go into the season feeling comfortable."
Johnson said, "It feels good. Hopefully, now we get guys set in plays, we start playing together cause that's the biggest thing is trying to get the chemistry back and get back to where we were a couple years ago."
Camp continues on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
