INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts announced a major roster change Wednesday
morning.
The Colts signed kicker Matt Stover to fill in for Adam
Vinatieri as he heals from surgery.
Vinatieri underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to his
right knee to remove a piece of cartilage. He’s expected to
miss four to eight weeks.
Stover played in the NFL between 1991 through 2008 with the
Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
And, the Colts cut defense tackle Ed Johnson. 24-Hour News 8
sports anchor Anthony Calhoun reported Tuesday night a source said
Johnson had been cut.
In May of 2009, the team re-signed Johnson.
The tackle from Penn State started 16 games in 2007 and one game in 2008 for the Colts. He was waived September 11, 2008 after being arrested for possession of marijuana.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
