INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Peyton Manning and company were back at practice Wednesday afternoon at the Colts complex with all the usual players taking part.

Kicker Adam Vinatieri said he plans on doing most if not all of the kicking chores, recovering from off-season hip and knee surgeries.

But there's still no Bob Sanders. He's on the active roster but doubtful for the opener and questions remain unanswered on when he'll return from his own knee surgery. Asked if he had practiced yet, and how close he was to returning, Sanders was vague.

"You know what? I'm not really sure right now. I'm just going to focus on taking it one day at a time, trying to get better, just getting excited for the time we'll be out there.

Sanders said he's not sure if he'll get on the practice field this week.

"I don't want to get into details about that yet, but I just want everybody to know I'm doing fine. I feel good, my spirits are up. I don't feel bad about what's been going on, but thrilled about the year starting up. It's time to play football."
