Angerer won't play Sunday Colts game

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Colts inside linebacker Pat Angerer has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against Green Bay at Lucas Oil Stadium. Angerer said earlier in the week he hoped to return from his broken foot against the Packers, but interim head coach Bruce Arians said he won’t play after Friday’s practice.

Arians also said Vontae Davis, Justin King, Joe Reitz, and Seth Olsen will not dress.

Rush linebacker Dwight Freeney practiced for the third time this week on Friday. Arians said a decision will be made whether or not he’ll play on the field before the game.

“It’s still, that thing, with the weather change, you never know with those things,” Arians said. “It’s hourly, not daily, hourly.”

It's been a rough week at the Colts Complex with the news about Chuck Pagano's leukemia diagnosis. Wide receiver Reggie Wayne told reporters that everybody has dealt with the situation in their own way.

“I can’t speak for everybody. I can only speak for myself. I’ve known Chuck for 16 years so it’s a tough deal for me,” Wayne said. “At the same time, it pushes me to want to go out there and give it everything I got. It puts everything in perspective. We still play a kid’s game. It just pushes me more and more to go out there and play hard and give it everything I’ve got, and in some kind of way bring home a game ball for him.”

Wayne added he expects a sense of normalcy to return once the ball is kicked off on Sunday.

“This is really kind of the only time if you do have something going on in your life, you can kind of get away. It’s kind of our safe haven for at least three hours. Once the ball is kicked off, it’s business as usual,” Wayne said.
