Caldwell reacts to upcoming Colts game

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - There are so many story lines ahead of Sunday's game between the Colts and the Ravens at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The players, the cities and the coaches, including Jim Caldwell. 

After spending a decade in Indianapolis with the Colts, Caldwell is now running the Ravens offense in Baltimore, and enjoying every minute. Caldwell was hired as Joe Flacco's quarterback coach and took on the role as Offensive Coordinator when Cam Cameron was fired a few weeks ago. 

Change has been good.

"After you've been in a place for ten years it's a bit different because you've been there so long, you typically don't get that type of tenure in our profession," said Jim Caldwell.  "We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in one place for that length of time without moving. But the transition has been very very smooth."

He knows the Colts strengths and weaknesses, but come Sunday he'll feel a little different and a bit emotional facing the Horseshoes.

"You don't spend ten years in a place and walk away from it and not have a sense of particularity with some of the guys you coached. Those guys laid it on the line for you when you were there and so obviously you are going to look at things a little bit differently."

That won't make any difference in how he prepares and calls the game, and as for one day getting another shot as an NFL head coach.

"Anybody in this business I think would certainly like to get to the point where they reach the top of their profession, and I'm no different."

Caldwell added that he didn't think that he got a raw deal in Indianapolis last year. He says that God's got a plan for him, and he hopes that's victory over Indianapolis on Sunday.
