ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Of the 90 names on the Indianapolis Colts' roster, 60 are new, so many expect that the 2012 season will be a rebuilding year for the team. However, don't mention that to any of the Colts' players; that word isn't in their vocabulary.
"I rebuilt last year," said veteran Robert Mathis. "(Our record) 2-14 was the rebuilding year. New year, new attitude, new defense, new offense, new tune."
The Colts' confidence seems to be coming from the top down. On the opening day of camp, Indianapolis owner Jim Irsay told the media he expects this team to adjust quickly to all of its' new elements.
"We don't want to use 'rebuild," said Irsay. "I guess retool or whatever word you want to use, but we want to have a chance to compete and have a chance to be in the playoffs, to have a chance to win games and do things people predict that you can't do."
The Colts will continue to "retool" on Tuesday with another two-a-day practice. After a walkthrough in the morning, the team puts on the pads for the first time in camp. Practice is open to the public and starts at 1:50pm at Anderson University.
The WISH sports team will have live reports from Day 3 on our 12pm, 5pm, 6pm, 10pm, and 11pm shows.
