INDIANAPOLIS (AP/WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts have hired Greg Manusky as defensive coordinator.
Manusky joins Indianapolis from San Diego, where he served in the same capacity. He previously served as San Francisco's defensive coordinator from 2007 to 2010.
New general manager Ryan Grigson made the announcement Thursday.
"He’s a football guy, passionate, fire in his eyes. You know when you sit with him for two seconds he’s an intense football coach," Grigson said. "He’s ready to come in here and do some great things with us.”
Grigson also said Indy has brought in Roy Anderson as the secondary coach. He'll be in charge of safeties. Marwan Maalouf will coach special teams.
First-time head coach Chuck Pagano hired Bruce Arians as offensive coordinator this week and is still trying to fill jobs on his assistant coaching staff. Grigson also confirmed that former offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen would remain on staff. It has not been determined whether he will coach quarterbacks or receivers.
Grigson acknowledged that the Colts would like to re-sign three key veterans -- receivers Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne and defensive end Robert Mathis.
