INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Colts got the best Christmas gift imaginable yesterday: their head coach back. The team took a break today to spend the holiday with their families, but when they return to the complex tomorrow, it'll back to Chuck Pagano calling the shots.
Players couldn't say enough about the job interim head coach Bruce Arians has done to this point, and they expect a seamless transition back to Pagano.
“The two coaches have similar philosophies, a similar approach and have been friends for a while,” said Colts safety Tom Zbikowski. “This team, this staff this organization is so united that there’s not going to be much of a transition at all.”
Colts receiver Reggie Wayne agreed, and added it falls on the players to make this an easy switch.
“We need to make it our business to make this transition smooth,” said Wayne. “I think if we go out there and win games and do the things that we’re supposed to do, it’ll be a lot less stress on him so that’s really up to us.”
Pagano stressed yesterday he wants everyone focused on football. The team faces the AFC leading Houston this weekend. Oddly enough, it's the Texans who will really be fighting for something, the number one seed in the AFC.
