KANSAS CITY (WISH) - Stop the run. That has been the Colts’ defensive goal all year. Nowhere will that be more important than this week against Kansas City.
"Those backs they have, they're young Chris Johnsons," said Colts interim coach Bruce Arians. "They can fly.”
A strong running game is one of the few positives the Chiefs have going for them.
They’re led by one of the AFC’s top running backs, Jamaal Charles. He’s rushed for 1,230 yards and four touchdowns this season.
“We’ve got to get 11 hats to the ball, play physical and play technique and gap sound,” said Colts safety Antoine Bethea.
Despite the Chiefs dismal record, the Colts are still preparing for a loud, raucous environment come Sunday.
“We are well aware [of the environment},” said Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. “The older guys have told us about it. We will prepare for elements as well.
“Arrowhead Stadium has got a very unique flavor to it,” said Arians. “With the parking and the tailgating and the whole thing they have out there is fabulous. It’s great.”
