Colts prepare for regular season finale

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Colts were at work again Thursday at the West side complex preparing for their regular season finale against Houston Sunday.

Even though the Colts are locked into the fifth seed in the AFC Playoffs, Coach Pagano said earlier this week all of the starters that are medically cleared will play. The Texans can secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win.

With a loss though, Houston can potentially fall down to the third seed and miss out on a Wild Card round buy.

With nothing to gain and nothing to lose for the Colts, would the players rather play or rest?

Safety Antoine Bethea made his thoughts pretty clear.

“At the beginning, we said it was going to be a 16-game regular season, not a 15-game. We've been out there all year fighting and we are going to continue to do that this last game. We are not going to lay down for anybody so I'm right on track with Coach Pagano. We will go out there and play."

“We want to go in with some momentum. We don't want to sneak in the back door, per se.” said Quarterback Andrew Luck.  “I know I need to work. I know every game you learn from those experiences and try and get better. I need to get a lot better so I'm excited."

The Colts opponent for the Wild Card round of the playoffs is yet to be determined.  It will most likely be the Baltimore Ravens, although there is one scenario where that could change.

If the Ravens win and the New England Patriots lose in Week 17, then the Patriots would fall to the fourth seed and become the Colts opponent.

The Colts host the Houston Texans on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium. The game can also be watched on WISH-TV.
