Colts run out of second half magic

HOUSTON, Texas (WISH) - The Houston Texans are once again AFC South Divisional Champions.

The Colts just didn't have enough of that second half magic to pull yet another one out of the fire. A hard lesson for young Andrew Luck and his football team.

"I think the credit is to their defense, holding us on third down, and getting pressure, and confusing me with some coverages and forcing some bad throws.

We realize if you want to have a chance against a good team like the Houston Texans you got to convert third downs and you've got to convert in the redzone with touchdowns, which we really didn't do." said Luck.

Dwayne Allen who caught a touchdown pass said his team left some plays on the field. "There were some opportunities, especially after the defense made a great stop and we got the ball back and we had a three and out. You just can't do stuff like that and offensively we've got to do better."

"You can't take nothing away from them, they came to play. We just can't shoot ourselves in the foot as well. You have to play flawless when playing teams like this." said Robert Mathis.

The Colts had a slow start and multiple big mistakes including a blocked punt for a touchdown.

With a playoff berth in the balance, those are mistakes that can't be made. Despite those mistakes, the Colts still had a chance to win.

Antoine Bethea agrees. "We still had a chance to win it, but with a good team like that on their home field, we can't dig ourselves in a hole like that."

Even though a divisional title is now out of the picture, the Colts still have playoff hopes alive.

"We want to get to the playoffs, get to the postseason any way we can.

So we've got to leave this one behind us and move on and try to get this win next week." added the team's top tackler Jerrell Freeman.

That game will take place in Kansas City next Sunday.
