The Colts’ win Sunday over the Titans puts them in prime position to make the playoffs. One more win, and they’re in.
Extending the season for Coach Pagano has been the team’s sole focus since he was diagnosed with leukemia back in early October. Coach Arians told WISH-TV today it’s looking very likely that Pagano will be back on the sidelines for their regular season finale on December 30th in Lucas Oil stadium.
“It all started with the foundation that Chuck (Pagano) put in, trust, loyalty, respect and then the bonding of the football team was his illness,” said Arians. “The guys rallied to make sure that we extended this season until he gets back. ”
Arians added he thinks the team’s current streak all goes back to the closeness that this team has had since Pagano’s diagnosis.
“When teams are really close and they have a purpose, you’ll see those types of locker rooms. Guys are always hanging together. They’ll be here today, tomorrow, on days that you really don’t have to be here. That’s the great thing,” said Arians. “That word ‘chemistry’ I think that’s overused sometimes but this team obviously has a caring for each other. ”
