Colts try to fill holes at linebacker

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - Three key injuries have his the Indianapolis Colts hard at linebacker.

Starting inside linebacker Pat Angerer is expected to miss at least six weeks with a fractured foot and backup linebackers A.J. Edds and Scott Lutrus have been lost for the season with ACL tears.

For a team already trying to make the switch from a 4-3 defense to the hybrid 3-4 preferred by new coach Chuck Pagano, it's yet another obstacle to overcome.

Pagano says Canadian Football League veteran Jerrell Freeman will replace Angerer in the lineup for now. But he's likely to get a stiff challenge from Moise Fokou, who the Colts picked up in a trade with Philadelphia last week. Fokou spent much of Tuesday's afternoon practice working out with the starters.
