Colts try to make up for Angerer's absence

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts have begun the process of replacing star linebacker Pat Angerer. The team’s depth chart released Tuesday lists Jerrell Freeman as the starter, but head coach Chuck Pagano expects the role to be filled “by committee.”

“(Freeman has) had the most reps underneath him going through (organized team activities) and mini-camp, and then coming through training camp,” said defensive coordinator Greg Manusky. “So now is his time to shine and get in there and step into the starting unit and role with it, which I’m sure he can do it.”

Manusky also added he expects new additions Moises Foukou and Greg Lloyd as well as Mario Harvey to get additional playing time. All three say they are ready to go.

“Obviously when they go down, you have got to be ready,” said Lloyd. “We prepare every week, especially us young guys for opportunities or situations like this where somebody ahead of you goes down. Then you have to step in and fill their position. You can’t not know your work.”
