Irsay disputes Luck contract rumor

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A month ago, Colts owner Jim Irsay said his team was close to signing top pick Andrew Luck.

We're still waiting, and the owner is taking to twitter again to dispute a SportsXchange report about why the deal is being held up.

The report mentioned the Colts and the quarterback have encountered a "stumbling block" regarding the marketing language in Luck's rookie contract.

Irsay’s Saturday morning response came on his twitter feed. "As much as I respect my friend, the 'One Source' is completely wrong[.] We're close on #12 [and] final details [are] unrelated 2 marketing.

The report went on to say that Luck would 'have to clear' marketing proposals with the club, and that the Colts believed Luck's predecessor, was "overexposed."

Irsay took issue with that as well tweeting, “its ludicrous to say we thought #18 was overexposed, he did a great job of focusing on football [and] "Branding" [was] an incredibly positive Image 4 Franchise." Irsay added this tweet. "Someone is being fed a big breaky of B-S!"

The Colts report to Anderson for training camp July 28th.
