INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A number of Colts players will be sporting a new hair style during Thursday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
To show their support of Head Coach Chuck Pagano, who is battling leukemia, they shaved their heads.
The Colts asked Michael Wardlow of Hot Stylz to clip anyone’s hair outside of the practice field who wanted to take part.
Some volunteered. Some had to be convinced.
In the end, 20 Colts players stepped up to show their support of Coach Pagano.
The Colts drafted Wardlow to do the job.
“I got to meet Andrew Luck, cut and shook Reggie's hand. Vinaterri – cut his hair, like I said. And a couple of the other players,” Wardlow said.
Coach Pagano made headlines when he showed up in the Colts locker room this past weekend. He looked a little thinner, but his spirit was strong.
Wardlow heard this from players when he was cutting their hair.
“We accept him with open arms, and we're going to ride out with him. That's what the guys were saying when I was cutting their hair yesterday. We're going to ride for Chuck. That's the motto right now – ChuckStrong.”
Wardlow says he was glad to be apart of it – part of a team – part of ChuckStrong.
“It's an experience,” he said. “I'm blessed.”
