INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A local print and design company is on a goodwill mission to drum up support for the hometown team during troubled times.
A custom-made, limited edition poster designed and printed by The Art Press is popping up downtown, with the slogan “Keep Calm and Kerry On.”
The poster, a riff on a British World War II propaganda poster that urged people to “Keep Calm and Carry On,” was printed Tuesday in a limited edition run of 300, and each is labeled with its number. The "Kerry" in the new poster refers to new Colts quarterback Kerry Collins, who said after a dismal team performance in their season opener last Sunday that he wants another chance to prove that pulling him out of retirement to fill in for injured star quarterback Peyton Manning was the right move.
“We were just thinking about and just thought it would be encouraging and be a cool thing for the city,” said Jared Ingold, owner of The Art Press.
The company distributed the posters for free, and some of those who received them evidently posted them downtown. Pictures of the posters were circulating Wednesday on social media.
Ingold said they are talking with a local nonprofit and may print more to be sold as a fundraiser.
