Colts: Peyton Manning banner to come down 'eventually'

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Despite buzz on Twitter that the large banner of Peyton Manning on Lucas Oil Stadium was coming down Friday, Indianapolis Colts officials say it won't come down yet.

Cranes were at the stadium on Friday, but Colts Director of Communications Avis Roper says it's to place a tribute banner underneath the image of Manning that faces South Street.

Roper said the banner will eventually come down, but not any time soon. It will happen before the start of the 2012 season.

The news comes just two days after the Indianapolis Colts announced they were releasing Manning, who has played for the team for 13 seasons.
