Freeney gives the latest on his ankle

Final day for interviews with the Super Bowl teams and while the world focuses on Dwight Freeney's bum ankle, the chess match between the two most prolific offenses in the league begins to come into focus.

Freeney told us every day his ankle is feeling better and he will actually try to do some football moves on Friday.

Expect him to play Sunday in some way, shape, or form, even though moving to the left side might not help because Freeney says he uses both feet for his patented spin moves.

As the game draws near, the fear of a 2011 lockout looms. Players Association representative DeMaurice Smith arrives in South Florida tonight and will speak with the media on any contract negotiation updates.

Both Peyton Manning and center Jeff Saturday expressed their eagerness to see a deal get done to avoid a potential strike.

"As a player I feel like we have a pretty good thing going right now in the NFL. It would be a shame for something to have to change along those lines," said Manning. "I'm hopeful it works out for both sides. I hope certainly there's no stoppage in play, that would be a real shame."

"We all make a lot of money and we don't want to kill the golden goose. We've got to get something decided and work together as a group and understand all fans pay our salary we need to keep them happy."
