INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Monument Circle is the traditional place where Colts fans gather after a big victory. But a disappointing loss cut the celebration short.
24-Hour News 8 caught up with some disappointed, but classy fans on the way home after the game.
“If it were any other team, I’d root for the Saints, but I’m from Indianapolis, I went to IUPUI, I love the Colts, I remember when they drafted Peyton, I love ‘em. I’ll love ‘em next year,” said Andy Moore, a Colts fan.
Colts fan Rob Morgan said, “That city needed it okay? Indianapolis, you had the pleasure of going out there and doing it before but I’ll tell you this. You gotta give it to them! Okay, they came back and they had nothing! Imagine Indianapolis being completely wiped out not having anything! I’ll tell you what. New Orleans Saints, they deserved it, they’re hardworking. They took out the Vikings, they took out the Colts. You can’t say nine out of ten times you’re gonna beat the Colts, but I’ll tell you what. They did it, they played hard and that’s why they play the Super Bowl! Everything else, if it’s just a prediction, let them go with the prediction, but that’s why they play the game. Congratulations New Orleans Saints!”
Sadly, Monument Circle was more like a ghost town Sunday night. No one celebrating. There was even a good sized group of state troopers ready for whatever might happen, but that was not to be Sunday night.
