More Colts ticket-holders selling off as worries pile up

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH - We've told you Colts fans were getting rid of their tickets because Peyton Manning wasn't in the game. Now they're handing them over because of concerns the team can't win one without him.

After the home opener loss last Sunday, ticket holders have been handing over their seats at record levels.

"No way am I going to give up on them," said Willa Taylor, a Colts season ticket holder.

But it seems some Colts fans are already doing that. After Sunday's home opener loss to the Cleveland Browns, some Colts ticket holders have had enough.

"There are fewer buyers than there were a few weeks ago at this time," said Renny Harrison, owner of FanFare Tickets.

"Colts have always been a tough ticket," Harrison said.

But Harrison said ticket sales are down this season.

"The prices that we're able to get for the tickets and the prices we're paying for tickets are lower than any big game we've seen in the recent past," Harrison said.

For example, if you want a game ticket to this coming weekend’s Colts game against the Steelers, single ticket prices are around $40 for the least expensive seats to as much as $250-$275 for the very best seats.

If the Colts were their usual winning selves?

"We would think probably around double that," Harrison said.

Harrison said normally a lot of ticket holders sell their Sunday night game tickets because Sunday nights are tough games for people to make it too. In this case, though, he said Sunday is not the issue - it's the 0-2 start to the season.

"This season is going to be like an up-and-down season for them," said Colts fan Walter Taylor.

"I still love my Colts. We're going to be OK," he said.

And if you're a die-hard Colts fan without a game ticket, you're in luck.

"There's some great deals out there for fans that want to go that maybe otherwise wouldn't have gotten to go to a big game like this if the prices were significantly higher," Harrison said, "The fans have high expectations for the team, and rightfully so. Right now it's a good opportunity, and there are some seat floating around right now."

If the Colts lose Sunday's game, Harrison said you can expect ticket prices to get even lower.
