Pats starting guards out, Mathis back for Colts

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - The New England Patriots are without starting guards Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly against the Indianapolis Colts.

Mankins missed Sunday's game with calf and ankle injuries, while Connolly has a back problem.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez is missing his sixth game, and third straight, with an injured right ankle and safety Patrick Chung is inactive for the fourth straight game with hamstring and shoulder problems. Tight end Daniel Fells and defensive linemen Jake Bequette and Justin Francis also are inactive.

For the Colts, linebacker Robert Mathis returns after missing his last game with a back injury. Inactive for Indianapolis are tight end Coby Fleener, cornerback Vontae Davis, linebacker Mario Harvey, offensive tackles Bradley Sowell and Tony Hills and nose tackles Josh Chapman and Martin Tevaseu.
