Polian says Colts' trouble is worst he can remember

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Colts have lost two more key players on defense. Cornerbacks Jerraud Powers and Terrance Johnson are both done for the season after getting injured in New England on Sunday.

It has been a horrible season for the Colts, thanks to all the injuries and their 0-12 record. Monday night while taping The Bill Polian Show, the Colts vice chairman told WISH-TV Sports Director Anthony Calhoun he has never witnessed anything like this.

"I can't remember in a time in my career where we've had so many issues - the perfect storm, if you will.” said Polian. “Peyton gets hurt, we lose six starters on defense, we essentially have six starters out on offense for the better part of about six or seven weeks. It's hard to play at a consistent level when those things happened, but they do and you can't cry about it. ... Nothing is going to change it."

He has hope for the future, though.

“We know that most of the players who are out will be back next year, so we will be a much stronger team, and we're developing some young players in the process, which is good. But it makes it really tough on the coaches. They don't know who is going to be playing from week to week," Polian said.

The Colts vice chairman talks more about his team The Bill Polian Show at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on WISH-TV.

The Colts will play at Baltimore at 1 p.m. on WISH-TV.
