Ravens coach: He's better than you think

BALTIMORE (WISH) - Sunday's playoff game will be another first for Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck. He's never played a football game in the state of Maryland. But he has been to Baltimore, wearing Colts colors.

Back in December 2011 Andrew Luck was honored by the Golden Arm Foundation in Baltimore with the Johnny Unitas Award as college football's top quarterback, on and off the field. As important as touchdowns and completions are a players character, citizenship and integrity.

The Stanford junior not only was given a tour of Colts and Unitas history in Baltimore, but he was given a Colts #19 Unitas jersey to wear at the ceremony.

The Ravens also see a special quarterback.

"He's better than you even think. He's got a better arm than you want to think, he's stronger, he's faster, he's got more rotation on the ball, he's more accurate than you really want to think watching the tape," said Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh. "He's just a really talented guy plus he's a first class human being."

Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco knows what it's like to be a rookie in the playoffs.

"I haven't got to see him play too many times, but obviously he's got the Colts to a lot of wins. I'm sure he's very excited about this opportunity to come into Baltimore and attempt to get his first playoff win. It's pretty cool to be able to do that as a rookie quarterback."

"Making every throw and being patient in the pocket, those things are essential for a quarterback," said Ravens Safety Ed Reed. "He understands it, he works it. I know he goes to Peyton Manning Quarterback Camp so I wouldn't be surprised if they talked a little bit."

Joe Flacco was in Luck's shoes and actually won a playoff game as a rookie. Let's hope Andrew's Unitas jersey will bring him luck tomorrow.
