INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Ticket sales picked up steam Wednesday for the Colts game Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. According to Larry Hall, Vice President of Ticket Sales for the Colts, the team started with 900 available seats Wednesday morning and had only 500 available by 4 p.m.
An exciting game this past Sunday and the return of a former Colts hero have sparked interest in the Colts game Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Now, the push is on to get all the seats sold so it can be broadcast on WISH-TV.
The box office is open at Lucas Oil Stadium and fans are still finding good seats for Sunday's Colts game. One man standing there Wednesday got aisle seats in the 300 level.
"It's going to be a rough season. Jaguars ain't that good. But hey why not we love the Colts," he said.
In fact, having the Jacksonville Jaguars as an opponent is keeping some buyers on the sideline.
"Jacksonville's probably the least desirable team on the schedule right now. I mean they've just been kind of mediocre the last 10 years and they don't have any star players that people are looking to go see," says Mike Peduto of Indianapolis-based Circle City Tickets.
But he says despite the tough sell, demand is there.
"At this point it's better than it was last year, because at this point last year people had realized it was going to be a long year. And I think there's a lot of hope and anticipation this year," Peduto says.
The Colts are inducting former running back Edgerrin James into the Ring of Honor, which is a way to add interest to a game with an opponent that fans don't care much about.
We were hoping it would, but so far we really haven't seen a lot of interest because of that. I think that's partly because there hasn't been a lot of publicity on it,” Peduto said.
So, there are still tickets to sell. And don't worry about paying big bucks. There are seats available in all price ranges.
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster , by phone or at (800) 745-3000.
