INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A tweet from a Duke University football player is sparking new rumors that Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning is working out away from the Colts complex in Indianapolis.

On Wednesday afternoon, Blue Devils center Matt Skura tweeted: "Got to stretch next to Peyton Manning today and say hello." Within hours, the tweet and Twitter account were no longer accessible.

That sent the Twitter world and blogosphere into overdrive. Speculation and rumors about Manning sightings in Durham, N.C. have now spread to dozens of football-related sites. Neither Manning nor the Colts have confirmed the reports.

Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe was Manning's offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee during the 1990s. Manning has worked out with Cutcliffe before.

Cutcliffe also recruited Peyton’s brother Eli when he was head football coach at Ole Miss, and reportedly worked with the New York Giants quarterback during the off-season NFL lockout last year. Eli Manning was named Super Bowl XLVI MVP following Sunday’s game in Indianapolis.

Manning has been medically cleared by his doctors to resume playing. The day that news came out, though, Colts owner emphasized that the star quarterback had not been cleared by the team to play .
