With lockout over, ticket sales pick up

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -  

With the NFL lockout over, ticket brokers are ready to start selling. Some say the lockout hurt their bottom line; all hope to make up for any missed sales in the coming weeks.

Ticket brokers said sales have been picking up since news that the weeks-long lockout that had threatened to delay the season was over.

One area broker, from Fanfare Tickets, said they usually sell tickets all summer. This year, though, fans just started buying tickets Monday.

To move inventory, they’ve dropped prices about 25 percent, to start around $60 for regular season games.

Another local broker, from Circle City Tickets, said they don’t usually see demand for Colts tickets until right before training camp. He said regular season prices are running steady with years past, starting around that same $60 mark.

Colts representatives said they haven’t seen any drop in their season ticket sales.

“In terms of season ticketing, we’ve had a very strong renewal,” Colts representative Larry Hall said. “About 95 percent of the accounts came back.”

The remaining 5 percent was filled with folks on a waiting list.

Preseason tickets are still available for as little as $10.

Brokers and Colts representatives alike expect high fan interest for the third preseason game against the Packers.
