INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - After a 27-hour journey from China, Indiana Fever player Tamika Catchings arrived in Indianapolis for her annual youth basketball camp.
Following a flight from Hong Kong, Catchings drove seven hours from Chicago – a trip that normally takes shortly over three hours – through the snow.
Catchings arrived back in Indianapolis for her 12th consecutive holiday camp where 200 participants signed up.
The Catchings Holiday Youth Basketball Camp started on Thursday and concludes Saturday at Warren Central High School.
Catchings started the camp after her first year with the Indiana Fever in 2001.
"If you keep working at it, if you keep setting goals, if your attitude's right - I had a bad attitude when I was young, I had a lot of transformation through the years of being who I am today," Catchings said. "Just being able to talk to them and show them that hey when you work hard, you'll get rewarded."
