INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - WNBA Championship MVP Tamika Catchings stopped by our WISH-TV studios this afternoon following the Fever’s big win last night to take home the title. She sat down with Sports Director Anthony Calhoun to talk about the emotions of winning her first WNBA title.

“When we were standing on stage and you know, Kelly and Linn were getting ready to speak, it just like hit me all at once, like wow, all this time,” she said. “This is something you dream about: coming into the WNBA and winning a championship. Everything just came crashing down and the tears just came flowing, and they called me a crybaby, but this is the one time I don’t care, call me whatever you want!”

She also acknowledged how happy she was to win one for the fans who have also been there every step of their 12 year journey.

“The last two games, the place was rocking. That place was off the chain,” said “Catch.” “There were so many people that have believed in us since the beginning so it’s cool to see all the fans who have been here since I’ve been here celebrating. ”
