INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Game is a tradition that started back in 1940. It's where the best graduating seniors in Indiana take on the best from Kentucky. The teams are putting in an intense week of practice to prepare for this year's showdown.

For Mr. Basketball, Jordan Hulls, who's headed to play at Indiana University next year, it's the best way to end his high school career: playing with the most talented players in the state.

"A lot of hard work going into it but we have a good group of guys over here," said Hulls. "It's been crazy this whole week, we've got four games."

Coach David Wood believes the all-star team is coming together.

"What I see is guys that are very willing to share the ball, very willing to help each other defensively. So I like the group as a team and I like the young men."

While the boys split last year with Kentucky, the girls got swept. So it's all about redemption for the ladies.

Coach Stan Benge acknowledged last year's let down.

"We don't like that too well in Indiana too much, our goal is to sweep Kentucky," he said.

Miss Basketball Skylar Diggins said the girls’ team is loaded with weapons.

"This is looking to be one of the best teams Indiana has ever had -- blessed to be a part of that," said Diggins. "Definitely have to redeem ourselves, we don't have a weak link."

And whether it's the girls’ team or the boys’, they have one goal: beat Kentucky.

It's a busy week for the all-stars leading up to the Indiana-Kentucky games. Game one is Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The girls' game will begin at 3 p.m. and the boys' game will follow.

The teams then travel to Louisville for Sunday's doubleheader at Bellarmine University.
