JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Madison County bicyclist was airlifted Sunday after he was struck by a vehicle.
Just before 3 a.m. Sunday a 20-year-old man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist was not wearing any reflective lighting and was reportedly riding in the center of the line.
The bicyclist was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and required air-lift to University Hospital in Louisville.
Police say evidence suggests the bicyclist may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash and troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The accident is currently under investigation.
