Indianapolis (WISH) - It was a big day of girls’ basketball across the state of Indiana on Saturday. Trips to next week’s state finals in Terre Haute were on the line in the semi-state round.
In class 4A, Bedford North Lawrence beat Roncalli in overtime, 66 to 52. Fort Wayne South Side held off Warsaw, 47 to 44.
In class 3A, Hamilton Heights was a big winner over Benton Central, 58 to 69. The Huskies will take on Mount Vernon in next Saturday’s final. The Marauders topped Rushville, 59 to 51.
Eastern and Evansville Mater Dei will meet in the class 2A final. The Neeley twins led Eastern to a 74-55 win over Fort Wayne Luers. Brittany Neeley had 48 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Comets. Evansville Mater Dei outlasted Heritage Christian 56 to 49 in overtime.
In the class 1A semifinals, Fort Wayne Canterbury beat Lafayette Central Catholic, 74 to 50, while Vincennes Rivet won over Southwestern, 58 to 50.
The girls' state finals will take place at the Hulman Center next Saturday beginning at 10:30 AM.
